Program Overview
According to Human Resources Development Canada, within the next five years there will be a shortage of ONE MILLION skilled trades people in Canada. This program will provide the student with the skills and knowledge required to work with skilled trades people on the job site in this well-paying industry. Participants will develop core abilities in the following areas:

Safety:
Orientation to the construction industry; career access skills; tool and equipment maintenance; drawings, specifications, layouts; practicum experience

Forming:
Build concrete formwork; Rigging practices; door and window installation; renovation; building sciences; practicum experience

Framing:
Construction of floors; walls; stairs; roofs; practicum experience

Finishing:
Install building envelope systems; thermal and sound insulation; drywall; interior finish prep and painting; doors and hardware; interior trim; suspended ceilings

Work-based Program:
Apply skills and knowledge in a co-op employment; complete 21 competencies (11 mandatory) and 500 hours of practice as required by the ITA for RCFT Certificate of Qualification
Our program features small class sizes, with a maximum ratio of 12 students per instructor. We believe adults learn by doing - and we integrate this philosophy with classroom and practical experience. Our graduates are competent and confident with their knowledge base and construction site hands-on working environment.
